Dog Walking in Pewsey

60-minute countryside walks tailored to your dog — group or solo, regular or one-off, whatever suits. Collection and return included.

Proper walks, not just a quick circuit

All of Rob's standard walks are 60 minutes — long enough to give your dog a real outing and a proper chance to sniff, explore and unwind.

Rob walks in the Pewsey Vale and surrounding countryside, taking dogs through fields, bridleways and open land rather than just roads and pavements. He knows the area well and picks routes that suit the dogs he has with him on any given day.

Collection from your home is included, and your dog will be returned home when the walk is done. You don't need to be in — Rob can arrange a key or code where needed.

Group walks & solo walks

The right type of walk depends on your dog's temperament, needs and history. Rob will discuss which option is the best fit at your free meet & greet.

Group Walks — £18

Group walks are a great social experience for dogs that enjoy the company of others. Rob walks a small number of dogs together — his insurance permits a maximum of six dogs in public spaces, though day-to-day groups are typically smaller than that, keeping things manageable and calm.

Group walks are suitable for dogs that are comfortable around other dogs and behave well on and off lead in appropriate settings. A meet & greet is required before any group walk booking to make sure it's the right fit.

Solo Walks — £24

Solo walks are one-to-one — just Rob and your dog. They're ideal for dogs that prefer their own space, have behavioural considerations, are reactive around other dogs, or simply do better without the distraction of a group setting.

If your dog is reactive or has specific handling requirements, a solo walk may well be the most suitable option. Rob will discuss this honestly and without judgement at your meet & greet.

Walks for every dog and every schedule

Puppy Walks

Shorter, gently-paced walks for younger dogs still building their stamina and confidence. Puppies must have completed required vaccinations before joining group walks.

Senior Dog Walks

Older dogs often need a steadier pace and more rest. Rob adapts the walk to suit your dog's age, fitness and joints — no rushing, no stress.

Regular Weekly Walks

Build a reliable routine with walks on specific days each week. Regular bookings are a great way to ensure your dog gets consistent exercise and outdoor time.

One-Off & Ad-Hoc

Need a one-off walk while you're at an appointment or away for the day? Rob is happy to accommodate occasional bookings where availability allows.

Countryside Adventure Walks

Longer, exploratory walks through the Wiltshire countryside — ideal for high-energy dogs that need more than a standard outing. Contact Rob for details and pricing.

Weekend Walks

Weekend availability may vary — no standard surcharge applies. Contact Rob to check availability for specific weekend dates.

A sensible approach to off-lead time

Off-lead time isn't automatically assumed — it's earned and agreed.

If your dog has reliable recall and the terrain and conditions are appropriate, Rob may allow off-lead time during walks, or use a secure enclosed field where available. He'll discuss this with you at your meet & greet and again once he's had a chance to get to know your dog.

Dogs that aren't ready for off-lead work will be walked on lead, with appropriate enrichment built into the walk to keep them engaged.

  • Off lead only where recall is reliable & conditions allow
  • Secure enclosed field available where suitable
  • Dogs transported safely in appropriate crates or harnesses
  • ID tags required on all walking dogs
  • Emergency contacts and vet details collected
  • Dog first-aid trained, kit always available

The weather policy

The tagline isn't just a phrase. Normal British weather — including rain — won't stop a walk. Dogs need to get out, and so does Rob.

In extreme heat, Rob will prioritise your dog's welfare over the normal schedule. Walks may be moved to cooler parts of the day, shortened, or replaced with a home visit or indoor enrichment activity to avoid the risk of overheating or burned paws. He'll always let you know in advance.

In genuinely dangerous conditions — severe electrical storms, dangerous ice, flooding or extreme snow — Rob may need to adjust or replace walks. The priority is always your dog's safety and wellbeing, not sticking rigidly to a schedule regardless of conditions.

If a walk is changed because of conditions Rob judges to be unsafe, he'll communicate clearly and work with you to find an alternative. Welfare always comes first.

You'll know how the walk went

Rob sends walk updates — photos from the route, a message to let you know your dog is back home safely, and anything worth flagging from the walk.

You don't need an app or portal. It's just a straightforward WhatsApp message, the same way a trusted person would let you know.

Eligibility & the free meet & greet

Every new dog has a meet & greet before any booking is confirmed. This isn't an assessment in the scary sense — it's Rob getting to know your dog, and you getting to know Rob, before committing to anything.

The meet & greet normally takes place at a secure dog field. Rob will watch how your dog moves, reacts and behaves, and ask about their history, habits, diet, medication and any triggers you're aware of. There's no pressure and no rush.
